Upcoming Classes

There are several exciting classes taking place at the barn this spring! Read the descriptions carefully, and then fill out the interest form below to start the signup process.

These classes are inclusive to both children with and without disabilities. Space is limited, so sign-ups are on a first-come, first-served basis.

New students will need registration paperwork. We may require an in-person evaluation, too.

We can't wait to have your child out to the barn!

Work Readiness

Ages: Teenagers and young adults ages 14+
Dates: Tuesdays and Thursdays, 10:00 - 11:30, April 2nd to May 23rd
Cost: $200, with scholarships available based on financial need.
Come be a part of our Work Readiness class! Participants will learn how to be successful in the workplace. They will have hands-on mentoring as they work as a team to complete various tasks around the barn. Work activities are outdoors and involve manual skills. Participants will need to be able to follow safety rules and work without 1:1 supervision.

Red Barn Gardening Club

Ages: Children and adults of all ages
Dates: Tuesday mornings, 9:00 - 10:00, April 2nd to May 21st
Cost: $100 for a child and their parent to attend (+$25 for each additional child if multiple attend), with scholarships available based on financial need.
Love to garden? Then come to the barn to help with our gardens! Spend some peaceful time at the barn while learning everything you need to know about flower gardening. We ask that parents of younger students stay on site (or you can participate in the class with them!)   Participants will need to be able to follow safety rules, work in groups, and cope with the distractions of other programs in the area.

Stable Reactions

Ages: Adults 18+
Dates: Wednesdays, 10:00 - 11:30, April 3rd to May 22nd
Cost: $50, with scholarships available based on financial need.
Learn how to work with horses to understand how our bodies respond to stress and how we can get back to a state of calm. Horses intuitively maintain their emotional equilibrium, so we'll observe and interact with horses to learn from them. Gain insights into the science behind these strategies and how to use them in all aspects of your life.

Pencils & Ponies

Ages: Children ages 6 to 10
Dates: Thursdays, 3:45 - 5:00, April 4th to May 23rd
Cost: $100, with scholarships available based on financial need.
Pencils and Ponies focuses on kids with sloppy handwriting. Activities with horses can improve their ability to write. We will practice while writing about our adventures with The Red Barn ponies! This program is designed and taught by occupational therapists and is intended for children with a basic concept of forming letters but struggling with legibility.

Teenage Boy Social Group

Ages: Boys ages 13+
Dates: Thursdays, 9:00 - 10:00, April 4th to May 23rd
Cost:  $100, with scholarships available based on financial need.
Is your teenage boy looking to learn more about horses, make friends, and improve their social awareness and conversational skills? Have them join our social group! We'll learn more about horses while spending some time hanging out together.

All About Horses

Ages: Children ages 10 to 14
Dates: Saturdays, 1:30 - 3:00, April 6th to May 11th
Cost: $50, with scholarships available based on financial need.
Do you love horses? Do you want to learn how to care for them, how they think, and how their bodies work? Then join our All About Horses class! We will have hands-on activities with our horses as we learn how they work from the inside out.
