As many of you know, this past Sunday was the eighth annual edition of Bluegrass and Burgers, and despite a few scattered rain clouds early during the event, it was a huge success!
Our staff and volunteers have been working very hard in between lessons the past few weeks gathering supplies and donors, cleaning up the facilities until they were spotless, and making sure our horses were sound and ready.
I was posted at the “Adam Simpson Adventure Center”, and, as the unofficial bunny maestro, I was very pleased to see so many people coming up to meet Taco and Lemonade. The bunnies were a little shy at first, but came out of their shell as the event went on. Apparently they love the limelight.
Though I wasn’t able to explore any of the other stations, I only heard good news afterwards and all the students and volunteers who dropped by to see the bunnies had a smile on their face. Even with a small shower towards the beginning, it was still the second largest crowd we’ve ever had for Bluegrass and Burgers. Needless to say, we were all glad to see so many bright, smiling faces as the event went off without a hitch.
Thank you again to all of our sponsors for making Bluegrass and Burgers an ongoing tradition here at the Barn and thank you to everyone who was able to attend the event this year. We hope to see you all out here again next year!
